On August 28th was marked the 107 birth anniversary of Dr. Atanas Moskov, a prominent figure of the Bulgarian and international socialdemocratic movement, an honorary citizen of Sevlievo.
        
On this occasion, on August 27th, representatives of the National Committee, Regional leadership, municipal chairmen, members and sympathizers of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS served wreath and flowers and bowed before the bas-relief and visited the museum-house in Sevlievo, in which our prominent socialdemocrat lived and composed.

On August 7th, 2010 – Saturday, the president of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS Georgi Anastasov and members of the Secretariat, together with Municipal and Regional presidents and members of the party from Kazanlak, Stara Zagora, Gabrovo, Dryanovo, Karlovo, Hissar, Kostenets Sofia and Lovech marked 119th anniversary of the founding of the party of BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS on Buzludja peak.

Served were wreaths at the monument of the BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS and at the monument of the detachment of Hadji Dimitar and Stefan Karadja.

The secretariat and the president of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS will attend and celebrate the holiday of top Buzludja on August 7, 2010 on Saturday.
With the approaching holiday, all party members and sympathizers of the socialdemocratic idea can visit top Buzludja - in memorial plate (over the monument of Hadji Dimitar), between 2 to 8 August 2010, to celebrate the 119th anniversary of the founding of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS.

Anna Miteva – Vice President of SDMS and member of the Secretariat of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS and Stefan Darov – Chairman of Legal Committee of “Dr. Peter Dertliev” foundation took part in The Summer academy for Social democracy held by foundation “Friedrich Ebert” in Velingrad – 13.07 – 18.07 2010. All left political subjects in Bulgaria were presented at this forum as well as KNSB and KT “PODKREPA”. The program included practical training and lectures in the following modules:
1. Foundations of Social democracy.
2. Economy of Social democracy.
3. Social state and social democracy.
4. Social democracy and political practice.

Former and current members of parliament took part in the role of lectors. The President of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS and Member Parliament, Georgi Anastasov also participated as lector.

On June 21st and 22nd a delegation of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS, lead by President Georgi Anastasov and composed by: Elenko Bozhkov, Svetlina Yolcheva and Stefan Darov, took part in Council Meeting of the SOCIALIST INTERNATIONAL, which was held in UN Headquarters, New York.

The meeting was opened by the General Secretary of the Socialist International – Luis Ayala, who thanked the UN General Secretary – Ban Ki Moon and the President of the United States Barack Obama for the great hospitality, given to participants in the Council Meeting. In his statement, Luis Ayala spoke about the Millennium Declaration and the main topics to discussion for the upcoming meeting. Addressing the participants made and the President of the Socialist International and Prime Minister of Greece – Georgi Papandreou.

On May 29 in Tirana, Albania a meeting of  Socialist International – Committee for Southeast Europe was held. The meeting was held with the following Agenda:







1. Opening
2. Strengthen democracy in the region
3. Enhancing stability, transparency of institutions and regional cooperation
4. Summary reports on the situation in the region
5. Decisions and Declaration
6. Closure

On 11th, 12th and 13th June, 2010 in Burgas, “Ravda” resort, Hotel “Amulet”, a three days training seminar was held on the project “SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC YOUTH MANAGEMENT PROJECT - 2010. The seminar was held under the auspices of the “Friedrich Ebert” Foundation and SDMS “Dr. Peter Dertliev”, and was entitled “Fiscal and Tax policy”.

The lectures presented by the speakers of the project were the following:
1. Kiril Grigorov –PhD of Economic Sciences: Financial policy, social security in times of crisis;
2. Georgi Anastasov – MP and President of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS: Fiscal policy stimulates demand, fiscal policy - the use of budgetary revenue and expenses;

On 04th, 05th and 6th  of June, 2010 in Varna, „Zlatni Piasaci” resort, Hotel “Zheleznichar”, a three days training seminar was held on the project “SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC YOUTH MANAGEMENT PROJECT - 2010. The seminar was held under the auspices of the “Friedrich Ebert” Foundation and Foundation “Dr. Peter Dertliev”, and was entitled “Consumer protection during crisis”.

The lectures presented by the speakers of the project were the following:
1. Pavel Karlev – Executive Secretary of the Federation of Consumers in Bulgaria: How violation of consumer rights in the provision of public services has become acute, social and political problem;
2. Ivet Minkova – Chairman of the Bulgarian Academy of consumers: Food safety, new foods, problems and policies;

Iliana Keremidchieva and Anna Miteva – members of the Secretariat of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS and Georgi Anastasov – MP and President of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS visited Bourgas and Pleven areas, and Nessebar and Sozopol municipalities in the period 10 May 2010 – 12 May 2010. They held meetings with members and sympathizers of BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS, on which were discussed the future participation in local elections in 2011. Made were an assessment of the achieved and future messages to the people of labor to protect their interests.

On May 19, 2010 a meeting was held by the enlarged Secretariat of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS. The following decisions were taken:

1. The Secretariat of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS adopts the updated Rules of the Secretariat of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS.

We are party with history started from Buzludja and we will go forward!

Georgi Atanasov - MP and President of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS and Anna Miteva - member of the Secretariat of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS visited Dryanovo in late April. “This is a friendly meeting and we feel at home because we are in the cradle of the socialdemocracy, where four of our adherents went to Buzludja in 1891 - Michael Boychinov, Dimitar Krusev, Mikhail Ivanov and Panayot Venkov”. In frank conversation with the management of municipal organization and with members and sympathizers of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS discussed were the Financial crisis in BULGARIA and its impact on human labor, and pressing social problems of the Bulgarian citizens.

On May 12, 2010 a meeting was held by the Secretariat of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS. The following decisions were taken:

1.  Adopted was the information given by Elenko Bozhkov for the meeting of PES Presidency in Brussels and for the Colloquium in Paris, entitled „20 Years round table in Bulgaria”.

Anna Miteva – member of the Secretariat of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS and Georgi Anastasov – MP and President of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS visited between 30 April 2010 – 4 May 2010 Bourgas, Varna, Stara Zagora, Pleven areas and Nessebar, Pomorie, Omurtag and Dryanovo municipalities. In a frank conversation with the leaders of the regional and municipal organizations, and members and supporters of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS, discussed were the Financial crisis in BULGARIA and implications for human labor and also pressing social problems of the Bulgarian citizens.

The first seminar was held in Hisar – 16, 17 and 18 April 2010 on topic
"Economics and Energetics" in which have participated organizations from South Bulgaria.

The second seminar was held in Sofia – 23, 24 and 25 April, 2010, entitled "Youth, Labor and Social Policy”, in which have participated organizations from Northern Bulgaria.

On 04.10.2010 at 10:00 AM in the headquarters of party BULGARIAN SOCIALDEMOCRATS in Sofia, Aksakov №31 str, was held a Political Council.

Discussed were international and organizational issues concerning the party’s policy.
Special attention was paid to the financial issues concerning the purchase of the headquarters.
